When you think of pinstripes, baseball is probably the first sport that comes to mind. It hardly matters whether you follow the game. In the United States—the country that has shaped the way the world thinks about sportswear and lifestyle—baseball remains the sport of record, steeped in tradition and woven into the country’s cultural identity as much as its sporting history. That heritage runs through Inter’s new Away shirt. Unveiled in New York ahead of the 2026/27 season during Fanatics Fest NYC, the world’s biggest festival for sports fans, the kit places the club’s own identity alongside the visual language of America’s most iconic franchises. Blue pinstripes stretch across a white base, recalling some of Major League Baseball’s most recognisable uniforms. A contrast collar follows the same tradition. Even the crest has been reimagined. For the first time on an official Inter match shirt, the familiar badge gives way to a monogram: the letters “I” and “M” leave behind their circular frame, enlarged and rendered in twill with the bold, unmistakable character of classic baseball insignia. Performance sits beneath the styling. The Away Kit introduces Nike Aero-FIT, the latest expression of the brand’s ventilation technology, engineered to deliver more than twice the airflow of previous generations of Nike performance apparel while helping players perform in the toughest conditions.
The baseball influence doesn’t end here. Over the coming seasons, Inter will use its Away shirt to explore the visual traditions of other sports as well, reworking their aesthetic without ever losing sight of the club’s Nerazzurri identity. The same idea extends to an accompanying Express Collection, with jerseys, jackets and caps inspired by baseball culture. The 2026/27 Away Kit is available from today, Friday 17 July, through Inter’s online store, Nike.com, the Inter Stores in Milan, Castello and San Siro, selected Nike stores and authorised retailers. Away shorts will also be available to purchase separately for the first time, in both white and blue. The launch itself reflected the thinking behind the collection. On the Central Stage at Fanatics Fest in New York, Christian Vieri joined Stuart McArthur, Nike Senior Director of Apparel Product Design, for a live conversation exploring the connections between sport, design and music through the lens of Inter’s identity. Chxrry, Dom Innarella and Evening Elephants of Republic Records—the legendary New York label—completed the programme with live performances.
