It is a hugely important moment for LR Vicenza: returning to Serie B after four seasons was a liberation, but now a new era is beginning from an aesthetic point of view as well. In fact, a partnership has just begun with the artistic collective MSCHF, based in Brooklyn, New York, which oversaw the creation of a new playing kit and the launch of a new dedicated collection.

Obviously, the collab is based on MSCHF’s usual provocative and irreverent approach, and for its first capsule it thought it best to take LR Vicenza onto a golf course. So far, so good, except that one of the recurring elements on the garments is the phrase “GOLF SUCKS” — which, of course, needs no translation. The complete collection, created in collaboration with Hummel, consists of a flag, a cap, two scarves, a T-shirt, a sweatshirt, a shirt and a pair of shorts. All the pieces are characterized by the presence of a new logo for the biancorossi club, designed specifically for the beginning of this new partnership: LR Vicenza’s historic crest — a stylized L and R intertwined — turns blue and is decorated with three exclamation marks, a symbol that refers to MSCHF.

According to Stefano Rosso, president of LR Vicenza, “the collaboration with MSCHF is one of the most exciting initiatives in our football journey. Our club boasts a long and proud history, but we believe that today’s football must also speak the language of culture, creativity and global relevance. With this project, LR Vicenza’s identity transcends national borders. MSCHF brings a unique ability to challenge conventions and expand the cultural footprint of a sporting institution through this new collection that honors its heritage. And that also embraces the future with courage, imagination and a truly international perspective.”

The capsule is available from May 15, and marks MSCHF’s entry into the world of football: important news, because in effect LR Vicenza has opened the doors to a language, a style and a voice that are completely outside the box. The collective is in fact used to erasing and rewriting the codes of every sector it enters with its projects, mixing bold ideas, sometimes excessive if not even illegal, with irreverent and unexpected expressions. Just like the collaboration with LR Vicenza.
