Galicia is a wonderful, indomitable land, and the people who live there feel an enormous attachment to their roots, to their identity. That is why Pompeii and Kappa have launched a capsule that celebrates precisely Miña Terra Galega through a collaboration with Deportivo La Coruña. Which is something more than just a football team for its people: first of all, it is one of the very few clubs that, in 2000, managed to win La Liga and interrupt the dominance of Real Madrid and Barcelona (plus Atlético Madrid); and then it is a genuine cultural outpost, capable of transmitting the values of the community it represents.
In this way, as actually always happens, football is no longer just a sport, but a vector of belonging and territorial cohesion. Starting precisely from the most recognizable symbols of the club from A Coruña, the official name of the city, a capsule collection has been created that combines football references with a more contemporary perspective. The line includes a jersey inspired by A Coruña’s iconic glass galleries, a training jacket that reinterprets a Kappa archive piece, a long-sleeved knit polo with the claim “Forza do Atlántico”, a long-sleeved cotton T-shirt bearing the words “Miña Terra Galega” and a limited-edition checked windbreaker.
The launch and promotion campaign was also developed from Galician identity: on the Atlantic coast, a group of local dancers moves to music inspired by tradition, creating a unique language, capable of connecting past and present and speaking to a new generation of fans and enthusiasts. Without, however, losing a single gram of what makes Depor and its land unique.
