English clubs have spent years finding new ways to develop their digital offering, and Brentford have now turned their attention to the experience inside the Gtech Community Stadium. A new network technology developed by HPE will bring enhanced wired and wireless connectivity to the club’s London home, allowing thousands of supporters to stay connected during Premier League matches and access the services and experiences the club has to offer. Through its official app, Brentford provides exclusive content, interactive activities and competitions, loyalty programmes and a range of features designed to make matchdays run more smoothly, including digital ticketing.

The new platform will benefit more than just supporters. It will also help Brentford’s staff, with stewards, security personnel and hospitality teams able to monitor activity across the stands, concourses, VIP areas and even the stadium perimeter. Having a clearer picture of what is happening throughout the ground will help them carry out their work more effectively and ensure supporters have the best possible experience on Premier League matchdays.

For Brentford, this is only the beginning of a much longer process. As the club’s commercial director, Fran Jones, explained: “We are always looking for ways to use technology to improve the experience for our supporters, and connectivity is a fundamental part of that. We have built a network that supports both our fans and the wider club, while giving us the flexibility to explore new digital experiences as we continue to evolve our matchday offering.” Modern stadiums are becoming increasingly digital environments, with technology now supporting almost every aspect of the matchday experience and forming part of what clubs offer their supporters. Brentford are well aware of this, and have invested accordingly.
