Next year, Naples will host the 38th edition of the America’s Cup, the most famous sailing competition as well as the oldest sporting event in the world. The path toward the awarding of the trophy, three years after the 2024 experience in Barcelona, will officially begin in the coming days with the preliminary regattas in Cagliari. All sailing fans will have their eyes on the fastest hulls in the world. The holder of the Cup is Emirates Team New Zealand, which for this edition too – whose full name is the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup – will be supported by OMEGA. This new stage fits into a journey that began more than thirty years ago, in 1995 to be precise: ahead of the 29th edition of the event, the Swiss brand and the New Zealand boat signed a partnership based on shared values such as precision, innovation and passion for the ocean.
Temam New Zealand won the America’s Cup in 1998, then also in 2000, in 2017, in 2021 and then, as mentioned, in 2024. Throughout all these campaigns, the distinctive red bows bearing the OMEGA brand have been a constant presence on the New Zealand hull. That is why Emirates Team New Zealand CEO Grant Dalton said that «it is a source of pride for us to continue associating an iconic brand like OMEGA with our team for the 38th America’s Cup in Naples, in 2027. For more than 30 years, OMEGA has been a partner devoted to precision: it has supported our team, contributing significantly to the success of all five of our America’s Cup victories».

OMEGA will also be the Official Timekeeper of the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup. In addition to the main competitions, this role will apply to the entire America’s Cup programme, including the return of the Women’s America’s Cup and the Youth America’s Cup.
